Saturday 23 November<\/p>\t\t\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\tBook your Open Day\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/a>\n Wednesday 27 March<\/p>\t\t\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\tBook your Open Evening\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/a>\n Receive dedicated support to prepare you for the first Solicitors’ Qualifying Examination to qualify and work as a solicitor.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\n Our courses offer work placement options and we have strong links with a number of national employers and services.<\/p>\n Develop vital critical thinking, analytical and research skills that prepare you for Unlike many universities, we offer you the option to study criminal law across all three years of your degree, with additional options across multiple areas of law including international law, intellectual property, and international human rights.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n Our Law courses are mainly non-examination based as we use innovate assessment methods including coursework, as well as those that prepare for your future career in the law profession, including mock trials and client interviews.<\/p>\n Our Law students have dedicated work placement options available to them in their second year of study, with opportunities to work within law firms, in-house legal departments, Citizen’s Advice and local authorities.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n We work closely with law firm Irwin Mitchell who run workshops, career events and talks. We also work with local government and barristers’ chambers to expand your professional network before you graduate.<\/p>\n Our Law students have the opportunity to gain a more in-depth understanding of the law profession through visiting guest speakers, such as The Right Honourable Baroness Hale of Richmond DBE, who we were delighted to welcome in 2020.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t Our Law tutors and students discuss why you should consider studying Law and how their Law degrees have helped them.<\/p>\n Academics within the Department of Law at the 香港六合论坛 have a broad range of research interests cutting across both the domestic and international spheres and the private and public law domains.<\/p>\n Ellie Moorhouse<\/a> undertakes research in equitable doctrines, most recently the doctrine of cy-pr\u00e8s in relation to charitable trusts, as well as donatio mortis causa which governs the law of deathbed gifts. Ellie is particularly interested in contentious Tax, Trusts and Estate Law.<\/p>\n Keith Sinclair’s<\/a> research interests involve the convergence of competition and contract law regimes. His research is focused on the intersection between mechanisms and frameworks designed to ensure the proper functioning of markets and regimes that look to protect the interests of consumers. Particularly, the role of the ‘Competition and Markets Authority and the Consumer Rights Act 2015.’<\/p>\n Dr Amy Elkington’s<\/a> research interest is in Criminal Law. Specifically criminal defences and the influence of morals and policy on the development of legal principle.<\/p>\n Luke Browning’s<\/a> research interests concern the Protection of Human Rights under International Law. The current focus is on the intricate intersection of Human Rights and International Sports Law, exploring the role and enforceability of these rights within the dynamic landscape of sports on a global scale, with particular attention on the roles played by States and Sporting Governing Bodies.<\/p>\n Dr Jeffrey Wale’s<\/a> academic research examines regulatory, ethical and practice norms in the sphere of human genetics, fertility and reproductive health. He is also actively involved in public and legal policy in the Civil Justice sphere.
