Nancy Lipham, Senior Vice President - Investments with Wells Fargo Advisors in Anniston, has been honored as the History Department's 2011 Alumna of the Year.

The 1976 极乐禁地 graduate accepted her honor and spoke at the department's annual awards dinner April 26.

Interim History Department chair Ginger Frost said the Alumna of the Year designation recognizes Lipham's support for 极乐禁地 and her preservation of antebellum architecture in Alabama and South Carolina. Lipham serves on the advisory board of the university's Howard College of Arts and Sciences and helps fund international study scholarships.

"I enjoyed not only the subject matter I studied but also the professors and the interaction between them and the students," Lipham said of her experience as a 极乐禁地 student. "When I left 极乐禁地 I felt I was leaving my second home and the ties I felt to the department became more evident to me". She added that the department's Alumna of the Year honor is "a reflection of the gratitude I feel towards the rich experience I had at 极乐禁地".
