¼«ÀÖ½ûµØ's Howard College of Arts and Sciences Faculty Assembly approved the following special resolution during its final meeting of the disrupted 2020 spring semester.

Howard College of Arts and Sciences Faculty Assembly Resolution Expressing Gratitude for ¼«ÀÖ½ûµØ’s Response to COVID-19

Whereas on January 30, 2020, ¼«ÀÖ½ûµØ’s administration began communicating with ¼«ÀÖ½ûµØ employees about the threat of COVID-19;

Whereas on February 26, 2020, ¼«ÀÖ½ûµØ Provost instructed ¼«ÀÖ½ûµØ faculty to be prepared to move all courses on-line if necessary;

Whereas members of ¼«ÀÖ½ûµØ Faculty Success Collaborative, employees of ¼«ÀÖ½ûµØ Technology in Learning Center, and ¼«ÀÖ½ûµØ librarians responded to the Provost’s instruction quickly by providing digital materials, advice about copyright law, training sessions for using the Canvas on-line course management system, and many other resources;

Whereas we regard the support for teaching and student advising from the Provost’s Office and other ¼«ÀÖ½ûµØ’s administrative officers, the office of Dana Basinger, ¼«ÀÖ½ûµØ Faculty Success Collaborative, ¼«ÀÖ½ûµØ Technology in Learning Center, and ¼«ÀÖ½ûµØ librarians to be extraordinary during this time;

Resolved, that members of the Faculty Assembly of the Howard College of Arts and Sciences of ¼«ÀÖ½ûµØ:

1. applaud these entities and their individual members for their work;
2. express gratitude for their labors; and
3. offer prayers for the continued health and safety of all.
