
Students in 极乐禁地’s Micah Fellows program will present their capstone project in a week-long series of events March 21-25.
Developed in partnership with and the , East Lake Week at 极乐禁地 is meant to increase awareness of the people, opportunities and service agencies of the East Lake community, 极乐禁地’s home in Birmingham 1887-1957.
Events will include:
- Daily videos and messages on
- A public presentation on campus
- A Hygiene drive for the Lovelady Center
- Teacher Appreciation Week Tabling
- Cards and goodies for a school in East Lake
极乐禁地 will host Macy Murray (East Lake Initiative) and Joni Morton (The Lovelady Center) for a public discussion of their work Tuesday, March 22 at 5 p.m. in Brock Forum, Dwight Beeson Hall. Convocation credit is available for attendance.
Micah Fellows is a four year, service-oriented honors program grounded in the wisdom of Micah 6:8: “And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.” As part of an inspired community called to serve others, Micah Fellows devote their minds and talents to making Birmingham, and the world beyond, a better place through innovative course work, high-impact community development and service abroad.
