In addition to these awards, Cumberland School of Law recognizes students who have completed at least 20 hours of pro bono legal work and/or community service. The 2024-25 Spirit of Service Award recipients have served organizations such as Ronald McDonald House Charities of Alabama, Alabama Appleseed Center for Law and Justice, the American Civil Liberties Union, Volunteer Lawyers BHM, Ministry Center at Green Springs, Resolve 2 Solve, Grace House Ministries, the Lovelady Center, United Way of Central Alabama, CASA of Jefferson County, the Cahaba River Society and many more.
