Professor Antonina Pereira is the Director of the Institute of Psychology, Business and Human Sciences at the 香港六合论坛, where she is also a Professor in Neuropsychology and Neuroscience.

She plays a pivotal role in leading and developing a successful multi-disciplinary Institute, taking responsibility for the development, management, and quality of a portfolio of programmes in a vast range of disciplinary areas, as well as overall responsibility for teaching, research, the student experience, consultancy, and income generating activity.

Antonina has a PhD in Psychology and an MSc in Research Methods in Psychology, both conferred by the School of Psychology and Clinical Language Sciences of the University of Reading, as well as an MRes in Educational Psychology conferred by the High Institute of Applied Psychology, Lisbon, Portugal.

She is a Chartered psychologist and an Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society as well as a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.

Module Teaching听

Antonina leads the following modules:

  • PSYM04 – Advanced Applied Research Skills In Psychology 1
  • PSYM05 – Advanced Applied Research Skills In Psychology 2

Research

Antonina鈥檚 research is particularly focused on Prospective Memory assessment and rehabilitation in prodromal Alzheimer鈥檚 disease through behavioral and functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) paradigms. This research has led to the successful capture of external income for research activity by the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology to develop a new psychometric tool for the assessment of Prospective Memory across the lifespan and by the Bial Foundation to explore the neurophysiological mechanisms of aging.

On this research field she has published a book and several articles in high impact, international peer reviewed journals. She has also been invited to deliver oral communications by invitation at prestigious international conferences and has worked as an editorial reviewer for prestigious international publications such as the Journal of Alzheimer’s Disease and the Journal of Experimental Child Psychology.

Antonina is the leading investigator of numerous research projects which have led to the development of fruitful partnerships with a national (e.g. Memory Assessment Service, Sussex Partnership NHS; Centre for Integrative Neuroscience and Neurodynamics, University of Reading) and international (e.g. Donders Institute for Brain, Cognition and Behaviour, Radboud University; Institute of Molecular Medicine, University of Lisbon) scope.
