About
James Wilson is an award-winning academic recognised for his student-focused work in nurse education and interactive theatre. As part of the inaugural team at the School of Nursing and Allied Health, he is thrilled to work with the Chichester Engagement and Advisory Group to ensure that health care practitioners are informed by people from diverse backgrounds and communities. James is a Registered Mental Health Nurse and Nurse Tutor with the Nursing & Midwifery Council. As an innovator in education, he successfully applied transformative learning theory to an immersive suite of drama-based approaches that have since gained national and international recognition.
As a teaching-focused academic, he enjoys nothing more than working in partnership with students to provide opportunities for personal development and enhancing public engagement. James excels in partnership working which includes numerous charities, Further education Colleges and local authorities. He is regularly invited as a presenter with the Royal College of Nursing and at the World Congress of Psychiatry. His teaching ethos is rooted in encouraging dialogue with students by providing teaching experiences that help them find their voice about key healthcare practice debates.
In 2017, James became a with Advance HE and in 2016 was a runner up in the Times Higher Education 鈥楳ost Innovative Teacher of Year鈥�.
James is a member and active contributor to the (UKAT).
