A golf tournament benefiting the Lonnie Funderburg Lectureship at 极乐禁地's Ida V. Moffett School of Nursing will be held Oct. 8 at Highland Park Golf Course in Birmingham.

The lectureship honors Dr. Funderburg, who was director of anesthesia at Birmingham Baptist Hospital for 32 years. He helped launch 极乐禁地's baccalaureate nurse anesthetist program in the mid-1970s.

The annual lectureship provides for a visiting lecturer to speak to students and faculty in 极乐禁地's new graduate-level anesthesia degree program. Last year's inaugural golf tournament raised $4,000 for the fund. The first lectures were presented in October.

Entry fee for the four-person scramble tournament is $100, with special sponsorships available ranging from $400 to $1,200.

Tee time start is 8 a.m. Awards presentations will be made at 12:30 p.m. Registration deadline is Sept. 28.
