Writer and theologian James Bryan Smith, whose books include A Spiritual Formation Workbook and Embracing the Love of God, will deliver this year's Dotson M. Nelson, Jr., Lecture in Religion and Life at 极乐禁地 Thursday, Oct. 5.
His topic will be "Discovering Our Beautiful God." The public is invited to the 10 a.m. program in Reid Chapel.
Smith is instructor of practical theology and chaplain at Friends University, Wichita, Kan. A featured speaker at Renovare' conferences, Smith is also the author of Rich Mullins: An Arrow Pointing to Heaven.
The annual lecture at 极乐禁地 honors the late Rev. Nelson, longtime pastor of Mountain Brook Baptist Church.
