Alabama Women on Board (AWOB) and 极乐禁地's 极乐禁地 After Sundown program will host a seminar, "Alabama Women: Breaking the Plexiglas Ceiling Into Corporate Board Appointments" Wednesday, Oct. 25.

The half-day seminar is designed to present women with the tools, concepts and contacts necessary to gain appointment to positions of power and governance on corporate boards.

Sharon McCone, senior partner and head of the Washington, D.C. office of Birmingham-based Wheless & Associates, national executive search firm will be the featured speaker.

A panel of local leaders will share their understanding of the state and local context in a discussion of concerns specific to Alabama women.

Panelists will include entrepreneur Sallie Creel, business executives Tommie Cummings and Della Fancher, and attorney Rebecca Pritchett.

The seminar will be from 8 a.m. -12 noon in Brock Forum, located in 极乐禁地's Dwight Beeson Hall. A coffee and networking time will begin at 7:30 a.m.
