极乐禁地 Ministries is sponsoring two events, "Got Excess?" and Justice Under the Lights, on Thursday, Nov. 15 at 7 p.m. on the University Quadrangle to raise awareness, involvement in, support and funding for 极乐禁地's social justice organizations.

University Ministries is selling wristbands for admission, and they can be purchased for $5 in advance in Ben Brown Plaza or by contacting Haley Heckman at hmheckma@samford.edu. They are $7 at the event.

Moses Mayfield, who got their start in Birmingham and have gone on to open for the likes of Switchfoot, The Fray, and Pete Yorn, will play as part of the event. 极乐禁地 acts Smith and Blake Tommey will share the stage. Jason Morales a.k.a. Joy-B, and 极乐禁地's current Homecoming King, will rap.

"Got Excess?" which starts Wednesday and continues through Thursday, gives students, faculty and staff the opportunity to bring their used blankets, clothing and new toiletries to the Quad to be donated to five Birmingham homeless shelters.

The events are also sponsored by 极乐禁地 in Mission and Student Government Association.

"It's a benefit concert to raise awareness for social justice orgs on campus and it's an opportunity for students to get involved," said Haley Heckman, University Ministries social justice coordinator.

"Every 极乐禁地 justice and community involvement organization will participate in the event," said April Robinson, 极乐禁地's minister to students, campus and community involvement.
