Voice professors Randall Richardson of 极乐禁地 and Melanie Williams of the University of Montevallo will present a faculty/guest artist recital Thursday, Nov. 1, at 7:30 p.m. in 极乐禁地's Brock Recital Hall. The public is invited.
Richardson, a tenor, is coordinator of performance studies and musical theatre in 极乐禁地's School of Performing Arts.
Williams, a soprano, is vocal area head at Montevallo, where she teaches applied voice, vocal pedagogy and diction courses.
The two will sing together on several pieces, including works by 18th century composer Johann Sebastian Bach (Du bereitest fur mir einen Tisch from Der Herr ist mein getreuer, BWV 112) and 20th century composers Eric Idle and John Du Prez (The Song That Goes Like This from Spamalot). They will also pair to sing Fini鈥h! Come dolce all'alma from 19th century composer Vincenzo Bellini's I Puritani.听
Separately, the vocalists will sing pieces by Hugo Wolf, Claude Debussy, Gaetano Donizetti, Alec Rowley, Gerald Finzi and Carlisle Floyd.
Performers also include pianists Jane Watwood Gibbs and Lynn Faulkner, both staff accompanists at the University of Montevallo, where they also teach.
