Young vocalists from throughout the state will gather at 极乐禁地 Friday, Sept. 28, for the Alabama Music Educators Association's (AMEA) Elementary Music Festival.
The 320 fourth and fifth grade students were teacher-selected to participate in the Honor Choir. After morning and afternoon rehearsal sessions, the singers will present a concert at 6:30 p.m. in 极乐禁地's Wright Center. The public is invited.
The program will include selections from American folk music. Julie Scott, coordinator of elementary music, Richardson, Texas, Independent School District, is guest conductor.
Sara Womack, who teaches at Hoover's Greystone Elementary, is president of the Elementary Division of the AMEA.
