Elizabeth Gettys of Alexander City and Adam Mills of Fayette were named outstanding female and male students at this year's Alabama Governor's School, which concluded Friday (June 22) at 极乐禁地.

The two were chosen by AGS students, faculty and staff on the basis of participation and overall interest shown during the two-week program for academically gifted rising high school seniors.

Gettys, daughter of Sarah Beth and Charles Gettys, attends Benjamin Russell High School.

Mills, son of LeeAnna and Bobby Mills, attends Fayette County High School.

A total of 77 students from high schools in 28 counties attended AGS.
