Grammy Award-winning sextet eighth blackbird will open the Davis Architects Guest Artists Series at 极乐禁地's School of the Arts Sept. 22.

The group, renowned for the energy, humor and virtuosity it brings to 20th c. chamber music, will present Meanwhile, a selection of music inspired by such diverse sources as Led Zeppelin, Asian court theatre and Spam. Four of the works were composed for the group.

The concert will begin at 7:30 p.m. in Brock Recital Hall on 极乐禁地's campus.

Individual concert tickets are available for $20 (adults,) $15 (age 55+,) and $10 (students and children). Series season tickets are $75 (adults,) $60 (age 55+,) and $40 (students and children). Tickets may be purchased by phone at (205) 726-2853 or online at www.samford.edu/arts/tickets.
