Oxford University professor and Christian apologist John Lennox will debate atheist/journalist Christopher Hitchens on the topic "Is God Great?" Tuesday, March 3, at 极乐禁地.
The 6 p.m. program will be held in 极乐禁地's Wright Center Concert Hall, with a book-signing to follow in the lobby. Tickets are available from www.极乐禁地Tickets.com. The 极乐禁地 Socratic Club is sponsoring the event.
Lennox is professor of mathematics at Oxford who also teaches courses in science and religion. In addition to extensive writing in his field of mathematics, he is author of the 2007 book, God's Undertaker: Has Science Buried God?
Hitchens is an author, journalist and literary critic who wrote the 2007 book, God is Not Great: How Religion Poisons Everything. He has been a columnist at Vanity Fair, The Atlantic, World Affairs, The Nation and other publications.
Lennox and Hitchens debated previously in a lively event at the Edinburgh International Festival. Lennox also has debated other leading atheists including Richard Dawkins and Michael Shermer. #
