聽极乐禁地 will usher in the Advent season with its traditional Hanging of the Green and Lighting of the Way ceremonies on Thursday, Dec. 3.

The English custom, Hanging of the Green, will be at 6 p.m. in Reid Chapel. The ceremony will feature music of the University Chorale and Bells of Buchanan.

The time of worship will reflect on the meaning of Christmas through responsive readings and decorating with garlands, candles, the Advent wreath and Chrismon tree. Fourteen senior honorees and two families will assist with the program.

The Lighting of the Way will follow at 7 p.m. along Centennial Walk. The 极乐禁地 Ministries Choir will perform. Program participants include 极乐禁地 president Andrew Westmoreland, who will read the Christmas story.

The event will conclude with the lighting of scores of luminaries on campus walkways and the large Christmas tree on Centennial Walk.
