A prominent Birmingham physician and long-time 极乐禁地 donor will be remembered with the naming of a new simulation facility for 极乐禁地鈥檚 Ida V. Moffett School of Nursing.

The university鈥檚 trustee executive committee voted Oct. 26 to name the Charles A. Money Pediatric Medicine Simulation Suite for the late Birmingham doctor who practiced pediatric medicine for more than 40 years and was a member of 极乐禁地鈥檚 Board of Overseers at the time of his death in 2007. The simulation center, which is located in Leo Bashinsky Field House, provides a training laboratory for 极乐禁地鈥檚 burgeoning nursing program.

Money鈥檚 wife, Barbara, a member of 极乐禁地鈥檚 nursing faculty, provided major funding for the room which will bear her late husband鈥檚 name.

In other action, the trustees approved David J. Glenn as assistant professor of theatre, effective immediately. Glenn has served as a technical director at 极乐禁地 for several years and most recently was technical director for the School of the Arts. He has degrees in production design and technology from Auburn University and the University of Arizona.

The next full meeting of the trustee board will be Nov. 30.
