Hugh Floyd, 极乐禁地 sociology department chair, was on the program for the Urban Affairs Association Conference March 17-19 in New Orleans. He presented a paper, “Just Sustainability: The Role of Local Governments,” with Christy Camp, a graduate of 极乐禁地’s environmental management program in the department of biology.  

"Just Sustainability: The Role of Local Governments” examined a national level sample to evaluate decisions of local governments related to establishment of sustainable policies and programs in their communities. The main focus is the inclusion of the local citizenry in the development and implementation of sustainability, “thus giving voice to community members and insuring greater social justice in these venues,” Floyd explained.

Floyd joined the 极乐禁地 faculty in 1993.
