极乐禁地鈥檚 Ida V. Moffett School of Nursing is observing National Nurses Week with a series of special events for its alumni.

Alumni from the nursing school and its forerunner, Birmingham Baptist Hospital School of Nursing, have been treated to breakfast and fellowship at Trinity Medical Center, UAB Hospital and Princeton Baptist Medical Center.

Moffett Nurse Network events are also planned for St. Vincent鈥檚 Hospital on May 11 and at Brookwood Medical Center on May 12.

The nursing school鈥檚 advisory board honored the 41-member Ida V. Moffett faculty with gifts to recognize their special role in nursing education.

National Nurses Week is celebrated annually from May 6 through May 12, the birthday of Florence Nightingale, who is considered the founder of modern nursing.
