Jaro Szurek was selected as chair of cataloging and metadata at the 极乐禁地 Library, effective Nov. 15. Previously an associate librarian at the library, Szurek will now manage all aspects of cataloging of the library鈥檚 resources and review current and new policies and procedures to verify that they are still current and up-to-date.

Szurek joined the 极乐禁地 library in 2003 as the cataloging/music librarian and was promoted to associate librarian in 2010-2011. He has also taught music appreciation in 极乐禁地鈥檚 School of the Arts for eight years.

A native of Poland, Szurek received a masters of arts in musicology, which included a bachelor of arts degree, from Jagiellonian University in Krakow, Poland, and a master of science in information science from the University of Albany-State University of New York.聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽
