极乐禁地 Professor of Leadership Bill Service attended the 2012 Global Business Conference in Zadar, Croatia, in September, where he presented a paper, "Cross Cultural Leadership: A Roadmap for the Journey." Service co-authored the paper with Brock School of Business Associate Dean Chad Carson.

"The paper attempts to help prepare people for working trips in other cultures," Service said. "Carson and I attempt to synergize research into guidelines for the challenges of cross-cultural leadership."

Service used his own experiences when conducting the research for the paper, citing his semester teaching abroad with 极乐禁地's London Program.

At the conference, Service was one of three Americans in attendance, and he said the biggest learning experience was simply sitting down and talking to the people around him.

"Croatia is a beautiful place, and Zadar has 3,000 years of unique history," he said. "The most fun learning experiences occurred as I sat on the beach and discussed how people live."
