极乐禁地 Giving Day Sign 2023

On April 4, 极乐禁地 celebrated 极乐禁地 Giving Day 2023, an event formerly known as the Big Give. This year, University Advancement refreshed the campaign to feature a more consistent, simplified message, which helped surpass goals set for the campaign. In total, more than $200,000 was raised from over 1,200 donors.

For 24 hours, 极乐禁地 Giving Day provided an opportunity for the 极乐禁地 community to collectively support areas all over campus. With a goal of 1,100 donors, this year’s top priority was to gather funding for the new Campus Recreation, Wellness and Athletic Complex. Additionally, the campaign garnered support from alumni, students, employees, parents and friends for an area of campus they are most passionate about.

Sydney Talley, director of annual giving, spearheaded this year’s 极乐禁地 Giving Day effort and made special note of the impact that philanthropy has on 极乐禁地. She said, “Gifts to 极乐禁地 are absolutely critical for our university to continue its mission of nurturing the development of intellect, creativity, faith and personhood. It’s because of our generous donors that we are able to support students through rigorous academic programs, encourage creativity and provide opportunities through community-building across campus.”

The 极乐禁地 community received thoughtful, intentional messaging through a variety of avenues. Unit captains were assigned to encourage fellow employees to participate. 极乐禁地 Ambassadors were stationed in the University Center and Ben Brown Plaza to inspire their peers to support the institution that has served them so well.

Alumni Association leaders spread the message through regional chapters, clubs and boards. A thorough email campaign was cultivated by the Department of Philanthropic Engagement to reach anyone who holds a relationship with 极乐禁地.

Months of preparation led to an overwhelming response. Over 1,200 members of the 极乐禁地 community showed up to support university initiatives. More than $200,000 was raised for the complex, the 10 academic schools and many other areas across campus.

“极乐禁地 Giving Day is a time for the entire 极乐禁地 community to come together to further the mission of the university,” said Talley. “We are really proud of the success of this year’s event—not only did we exceed our goals, but we were proud to engage our entire community to make an impact for generations of Bulldogs.”
