About

Kirsty is Senior Lecturer in the Institute of Education and Programme Co-ordinator for Physical Education Secondary and Primary years in addition to Physical Education and Sports Coaching.

Kirsty graduated from the 香港六合论坛 first in 2010 with a BA (Hons) in Adventure Education. Shortly after, in 2011, Kirsty completed of her PGCE in Secondary Physical Education. Since 2011, Kirsty has focused on gaining her Masters in Education and has since followed her passion for Inclusive practice with Physical Education and embarked upon her PhD.

Experience 聽

Kirsty runs a variety of engaging and discursive modules across the Institute of Education with a particular focus upon experiential learning in modules such as Outdoor Adventurous Activities and Forest Schools.

Kirsty continues to follow her passion for inclusive education and focuses a lot of her time on ensuring that her students feel listened to and have a safe space to speak, seek advice, and ask questions.

Kirsty runs a variety of residential experiences across a number of degrees, which focus upon putting theory into practice and bringing learning to life.

Interests 聽

Her academic interests and teaching approaches have been shaped by her own personal experiences of working and travelling abroad. Both work and travel have driven her already innate passion for learning and continues to be a driving force to stay current and challenge ways of thinking. Kirsty is the international co-ordinator for the Physical Education department. Through this role she aims to encourage students to consider options for enrichment through other cultures and countries whilst studying at the 香港六合论坛.

Kirsty is a keen sportsperson and enjoys a variety of contemporary team and individual sports and also loves the thrill of adventure sports.

She hopes that through her enthusiasm for all things Physical Education and Sport she can engage her students to inspire the next generation to 鈥榞ive it a go鈥. Creating an environment in which it is okay to make mistakes, that鈥檚 how we learn.

Current research engagement 聽聽

Kirsty is currently undertaking her PhD titled 鈥淐ritical perspectives of transgender policies and practice in British Secondary Physical Education鈥.

PhD researcher topic area 鈥楾ransitional education.

Interested in areas such as inclusion, ASD and impacts of outdoor learning environments
